Hearts Day

Image
V alentine's Day, celebrated every year on February 14th, is a special occasion dedicated to expressing love and affection. This tied to the feast day of Saint Valentine, it has evolved over centuries into a celebration of romantic love, though it is also a time to show appreciation for friends, family, and anyone who holds a special place in our hearts. We celebrate Valentine’s Day because it provides an opportunity to focus on the importance of love and relationships in our lives. In this fast-paced world, it can be easy to overlook the people who matter most, and this day encourages us to pause and show our appreciation. Whether it’s through acts of kindness, gifts, or simple expressions of care, Valentine’s Day reminds us of the emotional bonds that enrich our lives through love and compassion for our love ones. On the day of valentines day, i went to school and i see the kids with their flowers to gave to the teachers and their friends In the afternoon mg dad and brother t h...

Thematic output

During our community-based research on waste  management, we focused on how local residents managed waste and the challenges they faced in properly disposing of materials. One of the major findings was that the community lacked access to proper recycling facilities, and there was a general lack of awareness about effective waste segregation.  My groupmates and I worked with local leaders and residents to introduce educational workshops and demonstrate how separating organic waste from recyclables could reduce landfill waste and promote sustainability. It wasn’t just about offering a solution, but about understanding the specific barriers the community faced, like limited infrastructure or cultural habits around waste. By engaging with them directly and collaboratively, we felt the project had real potential to make a lasting impact on both the environment and the community's well-being . On the day of our presentation, we will share the findings from our community-based...

Viva Vigan!

Image
Vigan as a Municipality: A Glimpse Into the Past Vigan, before it became the city we know today, was once a quiet municipality with a rich history. It was a place where time seemed to slow down, with cobblestone streets, old Spanish-era buildings, and simple, yet beautiful, traditions. The town was a hub of culture, a place where Filipino and Spanish influences merged. Even as a small municipality, Vigan’s charm was undeniable, attracting people who appreciated its history, peaceful atmosphere, and the sense of nostalgia that lingered in the air. Vigan's Transformation: From Municipality to City The moment Vigan became a city in 1999, it was like the beginning of a new chapter. Gaining city status gave the town the tools it needed to grow while still respecting the heritage that made it so special. This transformation meant better infrastructure, more resources for preserving its historic sites, and an increased ability to showcase its beauty to the world. It was an exciting time...

Chinese New Year

Image
Chinese New Year has become an important celebration in the Philippines, even for many Filipinos who don’t have Chinese roots. The strong connection between the two cultures comes from centuries of Chinese influence on Filipino life, from language and traditions to food and values. Over the years, Chinese New Year has grown beyond the Chinese-Filipino community and is now embraced by many Filipinos as an opportunity to celebrate prosperity, family, and renewal. For many, it’s a time for family reunions, to share meals together, and to honor the traditions that come with the new year. Filipino households enjoy symbolic dishes, like tikoy, a sticky rice cake that represents good luck and unity. People take part in customs such as offering prayers for prosperity and wearing red for good fortune. It’s more than just a holiday; it’s a chance for families and communities to come together, celebrate their shared history, and embrace the good vibes of the coming year. The lively parades, drago...

My Third Quarter Reflection

Image
As I reflect on the third quarter in my ICT class, I realize how much I’ve learned and how much I’ve grown. I’ve discovered how coding really works and how technology can be used to solve problems in the real world. It was exciting to finally understand how different digital tools fit together and how important cybersecurity is in our everyday lives. These lessons have made me more aware of how technology shapes our world, and I now feel more confident navigating the digital space. That said, it hasn’t been without its struggles. Some of the coding assignments felt like they were beyond our reach, and at times I found myself getting frustrated when I couldn’t grasp certain concepts. Time management was also a big challenge, especially when I was balancing multiple tasks and trying to keep up with deadlines. There were moments when I rushed through assignments, feeling like there wasn’t enough time to do everything properly. To get through these challenges, I started asking for he...
